The Photographer

The photographer for your wedding day is probably the most important person to source well.
If the cake doesn't taste great, people will forget it.
If your bouquet doesn't have the pink roses it was supposed to in, nobody will notice.
If the DJ plays cheesy romance songs, people will laugh and roll their eyes.

BUT You do not want to skimp on a good photographer.
Those photos will haunt you forever.
On every family wall, on your own mantle piece, your facebook profile picture!

Choose wisely, and do your research.
I lost myself for hours looking through local portfolios.

Find someone with a unique twist or style,
Someone who stands out from the millions of wedding photographers.
Don't be put off by price, you need to pay for the best.
Do not have your friend who's studying photography do it.
Don't be afraid to say no!

(They can still bring their fancy camera and take photos of the day, but do not rely on them)

Once you've found your photographer, arrange to meet before paying the deposit.
Get to know them.
See if your vision for your big day is the same.

We chose to use Carine as our photographer, from IN THE BLUE HUT

And she offers an amazing service as part of her package.
A pre-wedding photoshoot.
This is a great oppurtunity to get to know how the photographer works, and will direct you on the day,
It also allows the photographer to see how awkward you may be (men especially) in front of the camera.

The results of this day are the photos above.
Carine sent us over +300 images from this shoot, at our wedding location.
Priceless memories.
So, so important.
